Understanding Conflict

Conflicts arise in various aspects of our lives, from personal relationships to professional settings. It can be caused by a number of circumstances stemming from differences of opinion, values or beliefs. Most of the time, conflict can be managed by:

• Effective Communication – Open and honest communication is the foundation of conflict resolution. I work with you to improve your communication skills, enabling you to express your thoughts and feelings clearly and listen actively to others.

• Emotional Regulation – Emotions can run high during conflicts, so learning to manage your emotions in a healthy way is a key part of conflict resolution. I will provide you with the tools to navigate these intense emotions constructively.

• Problem-Solving Skills – Conflict resolution involves finding mutually beneficial solutions. I will teach you the four main skills for effective problem-solving in high-conflict problem solving situations.

Tuning in to Kids® is an outstanding 6 week evidence based program developed by Sophie Havighurst and Ann Harley at the Melbourne University’s Mindful Centre. This program is for parents of children between the ages of 3 and 10. Learn about Emotional Intelligence Parenting at its best. You will learn a set of skills and strategies to empower your children and allow them to thrive!

By attending this exclusive six session on line course, you will get to meet other parents, share ideas around raising kids, and best of all you can do it in the privacy of your own home.

Evidence shows that children with higher emotional intelligence:

• have greater success with making and keeping friends

• have better concentration at school

• are more able to calm down when upset or angry

• tend to have fewer childhood illnesses

Tuning into Teens® Parenting Program

Tuning in to Teens® is an outstanding 6 week evidence based program developed by Sophie Havighurst and Ann Harley at the Melbourne University’s Mindful Centre. This program is for parents of children between the ages of 9 and 18.

Teach your teenager how to understand, control and express their emotions in healthy ways.

Learn the tools to recognise, understand and respond to teenage emotions and how to manage your own emotions at stressful  times.

Clarify any problems you may be experiencing with your teen and your own reactions.

Recognise and understand specific emotions in your teen and yourself.

Learn new ways to cope when you or your teen are angry and upset.

Earn to manage the ongoing changes in your relationship with your teen.

Strengthen your relationship with strong communication routines.

Build up emotional intelligence in your child.

Our facilitators help you to enhance communication with adolescents in your care. This process can help them achieve positive health and social outcomes in lots of aspects of their lives.

Our sessions are offered on line in a supportive environment for you to connect with others who are having similar experiences. Facilitators present positive and practical methods so you can support your teens’ development of emotional intelligence.
